A Personal God

Phil. 2:21

Truth: There exists an infinite and omniscient God who reveals Himself personally to His people. He has a purpose for my life and because He is all I need, He will arrange my world down to the smallest detail. This purpose is accomplished best by a willingness on my part to let Him lead me. God is glorified only when that surrender us complete!

WORST.SINNER.IN.THE.CITY  56-0218E  E-32    I hate to say this. But so few of professed Christians today in our land knows so little about God. Oh, they know all their religions, but to know God.

Humbled Himself, and that's what makes Him great to me. That's what makes Him real to me is to think that He was willing to come down here and not be some great somebody, take some great name, or something like that. He made Himself humble and become a servant to all of them. That's my Lord Jesus. That's the One I love; that's the One, I want to give my life entirely to serve Him, and to work for Him, and do everything I can to get people to look at Him, believe Him, and love Him. He's lovely, precious.

MARY'S.BELIEF   61-0121  E-48    Paul Rader-the man that wrote this song that I sing here, "Only Believe"--said one morning him and his wife was having a little fuss with one another. Said first thing you know... He was reading the paper, and she said something, "Paul, will you give me some money?"

Said, "I ain't got no money." And went on like that a little bit, and said after awhile... He never noticed it hurt her feelings. He kind of sat there, and said, "Well, if that's how easy her feelings are hurt, let her set there." You know how we do, brethren, sometimes, I guess. And so, then he said she'd always stand at the door and kiss him when he went out. Then he'd go to the gate, he'd turn around and wave good-bye, and she'd wave good-bye. Said he got up and got his hat, and said, "Just let her pout it out." Said he went to the door, and said, stuck out her lips, kissed her, went out to the end of the gate, turned around and looked back. Said she was standing there at the door. Said he waved and she waved. Said he started on down the street. Said something begin to deal with him. "You done wrong, Paul. What if something would happen to her today?" Said he got to thinking about it. Oh, my, what if something would happen? "He'd never see her again on earth,"  Said it got worse and worse, so he said, "Lord, forgive me. I'll go back and make it right." Said he run back real quick and opened the gate, shoved the door open, looked all around. He could hear something going. Said she was standing behind the door, crying. Said he reached around. He never said a word. He went  kissed her again, run back out to the end of the gate, and turned around and waved. Said she waved, just like she did the first time, but the second time had feeling in it. So I think that's the way it is today. We want a... I want a feeling in it, something that's real to me.

333-3 LAODICEAN.CHURCH.AGE  -  CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.9

"These things saith the Faithful and True Witness." Now I want to show you what I find in the thought of "faithful". You know we often talk about a great unchanging God, Whose Word does not change. And when we speak of Him after that manner we often get a view of Him that makes Him seem very impersonal. It is as though God made the whole universe and all the laws that pertain to it and then stood back and became a great impersonal God. It is as though God made a way of salvation for lost mankind, that way being the cross, and then when the death of Christ has atoned for our sins, and His resurrection gave us an open door to Him, God just folded His arms and stood back. It is as if we majored in believing in a great Creator, Who having created, lost personal interest in His creation. Now I say that is how too many people are apt to think. But that is wrong thinking, for God is GOVERNING IN THE AFFAIRS OF MEN RIGHT NOW. HE IS BOTH CREATOR AND SUSTAINER. Colossians 1:16-17. "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist." He is a Sovereign God. By His own counsel He purposed the plan of the salvation of His own elect which He foreknew. The Son died upon the cross to establish the means of Salvation and the Holy Spirit carefully executes the will of the Father. He is working all things at this moment according to the purpose of His own will. He is right in the midst of it all. He is in the midst of His church. This great Creator, Saviour-God is faithfully working amongst His own right now as the great Shepherd of the sheep. His very existence is for His own. He loves them and cares for them. His eye is ever upon them. When the Word says that "your lives are hid with Christ in God" it means exactly what it says. Oh, I am so glad that my God abides faithful. He is true to Himself, He won't lie. He is true to the Word, He will back it up. He is true to us, He will lose none of us, but raise us up in the last day. I am glad that I am resting in His faithfulness. Philippians 1:6. "Being confident of this very thing, that He Which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ."

            He’s interested down to the minute details of our lives and He wants to be in the day to day activity of our life. He wants to be the strength or the “energia” of life in us.

Phil. 4:13   I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

DEMONOLOGY.2.RELIGIOUS  53-0609  115    No matter how much teaching you got, you can drum that into you. God's not in big words; God's in a honest heart. You might sing or speak big words, like I don't know what; that doesn't bring you closer to God. You can stand and practice how to repeat your sermon and say these things; that don't get you closer to God. You could learn dictionaries till you sleep with one, and it still wouldn't get you closer to God. A humble, submitted heart, in the simplicity, is what brings you to God. A humble heart, God loves.

SIR.WE.WOULD.SEE.JESUS  54-1205   E-4    But I'm here because that I felt that God wanted me to come to Binghamton, New York. And I'm here to do all that I can, to help everybody I can. For I realize that there's no persons here, or nowhere, that would want to be lost. And that every Christian wants to get closer to God. And more we know of God, see of God, and more we love Him, the more we believe Him.

HUMBLE.THYSELF  63-0714E  39    …They're a fine bunch in the Presbyterian church. And all those places there, it's men and women that are waiting to see that Light flash over their path. You just keep flashing the Light in humility, sweetness. Let's all grow closer to God by humbling ourself.

HUMBLE.THYSELF     63-0714E  40    Don't forget, this Tabernacle will lose its strength. Remember that this is the target where Satan's got every gun in hell trained on it. He'll cause one person to do something that's contrary to what the other one thinks. He's doing that. That's his business, if he can get somebody to say something, somebody to talk about another, say, "Well, listen, did you know so-and-so did?" Don't you listen to it at all. That's the devil. See, it's Satan. If there's anything that somebody's done wrong, pray for them. And don't pray in a selfish way, say, "I know it's my duty, I've got to pray for that brother." You take it to your heart, really down for that sister. And just talk and be real sweet, and the first thing you know, you find them right back in the service again. 'Cause after all, we're headed towards the setting of the sun.

John 14:1-1-4 and John 15:1-8; John 15:9-17; John 15:18-25

Chapter 14: the comfort and teaching about His departure;

Chapter 15: The resulting new relationship;

Chapter 16: Establishing the Comforter.

            A description of the new relationship: Union, Communion and Disunion (with the world.)

15:1-8  The Father, Son and the disciple are in the same relationship as vise is to branch;

the method for bringing forth fruit is to abide in the vine, more fruit needs pruning.

The fruit bearing depended on constantly abiding in the vine, not by putting something into

 motion that could continue of itself.

15:9-14 The principle element of union tends to communion, which is based on love, first of all

His love for us and then our love expressed through obedience.

            Watch predestination here: the useless branch is pruned off, the fruitful vine is pruned to

produce more. The branch which will produce will be purged, and remain, like Luther, Wesley,

Pentecost brought a fruit and submitted to a purging that brought more and greater fruit, which

remains today. He proved His love in the form of election and by revelation opening up before the

children of God the whole counsel and plan of God through those ages. Adam and Eve enjoyed

that kind of relationship if they obeyed the commandment.

15:18-25  But this kind of relationship comes at a price! This relationship is going to

be misunderstood.

WARNING.THEN.JUDGMENT  63-0724  34    And now, we find out that His Nature was here to always to warn a man before judgment, to warn a nation before judgment, and so forth. …We are responsible, and God has put us here on the earth for a reason, and that reason that He has put us here for, we are responsible to Him for that reason. You should go to Him and find out what He wants you to do.

If you went to work for a man, and he give you a job on a ranch, or something another, and you just went out to the barn and just set down out there, and say, "Well?" See, you must go ask him what he wants you to do, and then do it. If you're working for a man, find out what your duties is. And then if our life is on the earth here, then we should go to the One Who put us here, and, "Lord, what would You have me do? What must I do? Why am I here?" If it's to be a housewife, dishwasher... Whatever God wants you to do, then you do that the very best that you know how to do it. No matter how little, no matter how little it is, you must do it. You say, "Well..." The trouble of it is, each one of us wants to do the next man's job. We all want to pack the ball, as we say.

  38    Like this watch here, now, every little movement in there has its place. Now, every part of it can't be the hands. Now, I only look at the hands to see what time it is. But if one of them little wheels in there gets out of order, that won't keep the right time. And that's the way it is with people. We've all, the Body of Christ has got to be in their position in harmony. And then we can look around and see what time of day it is. See? Then the world's a-looking to see what it is. But they're watching you. And if you're just a little hair spring, main spring, or whatever you are, you do the very best job you can at that.

40    Now, because we have a responsibility that we've got to answer to God someday for. Every man that come on the face of the earth has to answer to God for a responsibility. And to many of us, a stewardship, we have to answer for... This responsibility is a stewardship that's been committed to us by God; I don't care what it is. As I said a few moments ago, "a housewife," then be a genuine housewife. That's right. If it's to be a farmer, be a genuine farmer. Whatever it is that God has put you to do, you got a stewardship to that; you've got to answer to God for, because it takes all these things to do it.

IDENTIFIED.MASTERPIECE.OF.GOD  64-1205  E-32    That's one of the saddest stories. To think that the man that was made in the image of his Creator, and was given a wall to stand behind, that that Word could never fail... That's the Christian's hope; it's his shield; it's his armor. It's his rock today, is stay behind the Word: every believer. Now you must never get from behind that. When you do, you're opening the door to the enemy. When they say, "Oh, well, you can do a little of this, and a little of that," God wants you to separate yourself from everything that's called sin, completely set aside for Him and for He only. He has a purpose in your life each individual, that no one else on the face of the earth can take your place. God's got something for you. You're made like that. You was did that way for a purpose. God's sovereign in His Word.

  E-33   We different one from another. We notice in the animal life. We find out in the animal life there's one animal God made a beast of burden, like the horse, and he has to work. And the cow is a sacrifice, the lion and the tiger roams the forest without any labor or anything. He made a great big animal like an elephant, then made a little bitty fellow like a mouse. Now, who's there to tell God what to do and how to do it? He does it his own way. And He makes the mountains; the deserts; the seas; the plains. He makes one kind of tree hard wood, palm, and so forth. He does it. He makes man different. He gives us each one a different place. And a palm tree can never be a hickory; a hickory tree can never be a palm. Nobody can take your place, and you shouldn't try to take anybody else's place, because you are an individual to God. And God has a purpose for you. He made you thus.

You say, "Why did He do it?" He's sovereign. He's got a reason for it being that way. But we find out that we're all guarded by the Word.

E-34    In heaven we look at the celestial bodies. The Bible says that even one star differs from the other. There's Sardis, and Mars, and Jupiter, all those different ones. They different one from the other. The sun differents from the moon, and the moon from the stars. And there's Angels, such as there's Seraphims and Cherubims, and Angels and great Angels, and degrees. And even in the new world to come, the kings of the earth bring their honor into the city. We're always going to be that way, because God is not a Sears and Roebuck Harmony House; He is a God of variety. He makes one one way, and one, another. But we must serve Him in the way that God made us, and be glad, and stay behind His Word. And that's the way God did it.

FELLOWSHIP     56-0212   E-47    God's Word is not supposed to be learned like a newspaper story. It's not supposed to be tried to figure out. It's to get down, look up to it, saying, "God, be merciful to me and give me faith to believe Your Word. I accept now the Blood of the Lord Jesus for my sins." Then it'll look a lot different. It'll make critics believe in Divine healing. It'll make those without the Holy Spirit, never been borned again, knows nothing about God or the new birth, become a seeker of the Holy Ghost and not to be an argue. It'll put a love in his heart when he looks through the Blood of Christ to the Word to say, "Yes, God. You died to make that Word real to me." It'll change your whole attitude. It'll make you a different person.

WHO.IS.THIS.MELCHISEDEC   65-0221E    117    Being eternal with Him at the beginning... The Eternal Life that you had, His thought of what you was, only He wanted me to stand in the pulpit, say. He wanted you to set in the seat tonight. Then we are serving His eternal purpose. And the one that left home, only come to the earth to serve His purpose. Then after it's finished, it's brought back in a glorified state. It's matured and brought back again. No wonder Paul could say when they was building a block to chop his head off. He said, "Oh, death, where is your sting? Oh, grave, where is your victory? But thanks be to God Who gives us the victory." He said, "Death, tell me where you can make me holler. Grave, tell me, how you going to hold me, for I am a possessor of Eternal Life." He recognized it. Death, hell, grave, nothing could hold him. And nothing can hurt us, got Eternal Life. He realized he was blessed with Eternal Life.

LOOK     63-0428    E-53    As a son of God, born by the Blood of God... The same Holy Spirit that wrote this Bible will focus It right back into you again. There's not a denomination or a creed that can do that. Only God Himself can take ahold of the camera of your eyes and let you see what God is, and what His purpose is.
