ACTS 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve.

Prov. 22:10 Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.

There is a difference between a gathering of Believers and a true revival. (Acts 19) Apollos was a minister to a group of people that later would become the Ephesus Church.

Atmosphere: a distinctive but intangible quality surrounding a person or thing: A dominant intellectual or emotional environment; The dominant tone or mood; aesthetic quality or effect, especially a distinctive and pleasing one, associated with a particular place.

BROKEN.CISTERNS 65-0123 81 …It takes the Spirit of God to bring Life, and that Life must not come out of just a intellectual revival. It’s got to come out of the Bible, Word revival, and that Word is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And when It falls today, and quickens, you get the same results you did in Acts 2. It always has, and it always will be, because it’s the Spirit of God that conditions the atmosphere. 83 It takes atmosphere to do things. That’s the reason you men are always taught, “Bring your children here.” …I was glad to see my daughter Rebekah come in and set down just a few minutes ago. Some of you seen me wink at a woman; it was my daughter; so she come in and set down. I want her to receive the baptism of the Spirit, and that’s why she is here in the meeting. That’s what the purpose of it. It takes atmosphere.

EVER.PRESENT.WATER 61-0723M 87 Now… they come to a place of Horeb. (Another name for Sinai) And H-o-r-e-b, means, a "dry place" or a "desert." And when we get out of fellowship with one another in the church, and out of fellowship with the Holy Spirit, it brings us to a dry place, a desert, nothing alive, everything got stickers on it, a little piece of cactus with that sticker on it. Did you know what that is? That's a precious little tender leaf that hasn't had no water; it's just wound itself up so tight till it's a sticker. And when you see somebody like that, maybe it's a precious soul that could been watered right, would've been a tender little leaf or something. But instead of that, it's wound itself up till it's a sticker, just punching at everything, you know, finding fault. Only thing it needs is just water. It just needs a revival, or a breaking up, a refreshing from the Lord. It'll unfold its little self, if you'll just put it to the water. 89 But that's where them who live in that place has to suffer with the conditions of that place. And those who desire to live in that kind of an atmosphere of where everything's just punching and fussing, and quarreling and stewing like that, well, you'll just live under that atmosphere; that's all. But we don't have to live there; it's not necessary for us to stay there.

Enthusiasm and zeal are wonderful things. But of themselves, don’t bring life. It has to be something more than just enthusiasm, it has to be spirit and life. All the components are necessary to produce the real atmosphere that brings Him among His people.

The Quality of the Atmosphere matters:

INNER.MAN 53-1212 E-13 You get around where there’s arguments; you get into that type of atmosphere. If there’s something in the church, someone who’s disobedient, and very ugly acting in the church and causing trouble, you’ll never be able to have a revival as long as that kind of an atmosphere is around.

PROVERBS 17:14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

JESUS.CHRIST.THE.SAME 56-0225 E-23 Now …we are commanded by God's Word to earnestly contend; that's the only place in the Bible, that I can find, that we're supposed to contend. We're not supposed to have contention, like when we contend for the wrong thing. We contend that the Methodist church, the Pentecostal church is right; and the rest of them's wrong. That's wrong contention. But we should contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints, the faith that was once delivered.

DEEP.CALLETH.TO.THE.DEEP 56-0415 E-59 …if the Holy Spirit comes today, and performs the work that He did, do you realize that unclean spirits and things will leave people? Do you realize that you're an open sepulcher for them? Did you know the diseases goes from one to another? …It's spiritual. Cancer is a... live matter. It's a life. It's got a master behind it, the devil. Jesus said so. All kinds of diseases, demons... And if you are unbelieving, or a critic, I ask you, as a friend of Christ, don't stay any longer in the meeting. I'd go out... I haven't time to explain it to you. But there's hundreds of people today that's been in the meeting, and stricken down with cancer, and paralyzed, and some of them insane, and in the institutions and so forth. For spirits can jump one to the other. Noted men, I have their names with seals on it, by notary public, that it's true. So now, don't be critical.

BLUSHING.PROPHET 56-1125 E-11 We put corn plasters on, take them off, and another corn plaster, and take it off, and still find the pain is there. What we need today is not social regeneration; it's not intellectual talks; what we need today is a old fashion God sent Blood transfusion from heaven. The corn plasters won't do no good… I'm so sick and tired of seeing little petty Hollywood revivals, so called, where people come in and get emotionally stirred up for a couple hours or day or a week, and go out and that's all of it. Brother, you can be worked up by a revival. You can have emotion. You can have good intentions. All those things are fine. But we don't need that today. We need a baptism of the Holy Spirit to change the emotions, and the intellects, and the views, the habits, the life of the people, and put them back on the right road again. Outside of a Blood transfusion from Calvary, all of our reformations won't do any good at all.

BEHOLD.A.GREATER.THAN.ALL.IS.HERE 62-0715 E-84 (Queen of Sheeba) She even wanted to take some dirt back down in her country. She'd seen something real for her first time. She'd seen so much idol, and theology, and so much put-on, but no real move of God. And when she really seen God moving, she caught it. "And the queen of the south shall rise in the judgment with this generation and condemn it: for she came from the utmost parts of the world to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here."

End Time Atmosphere:

BAPTISM.OF.THE.HOLY.SPIRIT 58-0928M 118 …But just before the end time, the Seed's almost gone from the earth, it's weighted out, the seed of the righteous. The seed of the serpent is accumulating faster and faster and faster, getting ready for this atomic age to be destroyed. "But just before that time, I'll send a way of escape. I've set before you an open door. Strait is this gate and narrow is this way, and it'll be just a few of them that'll find it…"

Sometimes, it is strange when God does things, His ways are not our ways! He will send things in what may seem the worst of times, but in reality, the hard times or circumstances cause people to look at the situation more differently because of the pressure.

Example: Jews in the time of the Holocaust, forewarned, but never paid heed. Hitler’s policies were just words at this point.

Example: LUKE 3:1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, 2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

HANDWRITING.ON.THE.WALL 58-0309M E-39 Yes, and some of these days this nation's going to be all shook up, sure enough… He will send the message anyhow. He did in all other ages. He will do it now, and He is doing it. And the revival is just about over. You remember as THUS SAITH THE LORD, I said, America made her final decision in 1946. Watch, since then. She's gone, and there's nothing left but judgment and chaos. Look what's happened in that much time. Just watch it, how it's going to keep faster and faster. We're at the end. We're living in the shadows of His coming. "There'll be signs in the heavens above and in the earth, men's hearts failing, fear, perplexed of times, distress between the nations." How the people will be heady, high-minded, how the daughters of Zion, the church will walk haughty, high-minded, with the way she'd walk, and mince and twist as she went. Where are we at? We're with Belteshazzar's big rock-and-roll party. And the church has been caught in the tide through television, radio, Hollywood.... Real Christian women bobbing off their hair, wearing make-up on their faces, dressed in them little old dirty clothes, because reprobate people has told them there's no harm in it.
