PROPHET.ELISHA
54-0723 10 …Sometimes we go off on a tantrum somewhere
and not think about God, not pray over it, ask the Lord
whether we should do it or not, and we find out that our
supply of blessings is cut off. Then we wonder sometime,
"Well, wonder why I can't have no more blessings."
You don't watch, you let down in your prayer life. You
say, "Well, I'm a Christian." Well, that's the more sign
you should pray, more than ever. Read the Bible every
day. Pray every day. Don't make any decisions too
harshly or too quickly, without first considering God
about it. Ask Him, "Shall I do this, Father?" Ask Him,
"Is it Your will for me to do this?" Then see what
the Holy Spirit will speak to you. He might not give you
a vision, but He will speak in some way to you, to let
you know, if you'll be sincere and ask Him.
CHRIST.REVEALED.IN.HIS.OWN.WORD 65-0822M 33 ... I
was riding with a man not long ago. He said, "Think of
it. We here on this earth, the way we are, and we only
know or can only say that we're saved by some Jewish
fable called the Bible." I said, "Sir, I don't know how
you say that, but I don't believe it's a Jewish fable."
He said, "Well, what do you pray to? I asked for
so-and-so and certain things; I didn't get it." I said,
"You pray wrong. We should never pray to change God's
mind; we should pray to change our mind. God's mind
don't need any changing. It's right." I said, "Not
what you pray for..."
35 I know a young Catholic boy
one time had a prayer book saying prayers for his mother
to live. And she died, and he throwed the prayer book in
the fire. I don't go for the prayer book, but anyhow...
See, you take the wrong attitude. You're trying to tell
God what to do. Prayer should be, "Lord, change me to
fit Your Word," not change, not, "Let me change Your
mind; You change my mind. You change my mind to Your
will, and Your will's written here in the Book. And
Lord, don't let me go till You got my mind set just like
Your mind. And then when my mind is set like Your mind,
then I'll believe every Word You wrote. And You said
in there You'd make everything work together for good to
them that loves You, and I love You, Lord. It's all
working together for the good."
1. Pray for things to happen
(Healing, deliverance, overcoming power, wisdom, etc.)
2. Pray to know what should
happen according to God’s will, for leadership, placing.
ROMANS 12:12
Rejoicing in hope; patient in
tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Continuing:
(Gr.) proskartereo to
adhere to one, to be devoted or constant to one; to be
steadfastly attentive unto, to give unremitting care to
a thing; to continue all the time in a place; to
persevere and not to faint; to show one's self
courageous for; to be in constant readiness for one.
1. Pray for things to
happen
GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY 64-0206E
54 God told Moses that He give him the land. He told
Joshua, "Every place the sole of your foot treads, that
I have given you." They had to fight for every inch of
it. So do we fight for every inch of it. …Come with a
determination. Come, that you're going to stay there,
till it's over. Stay there until God answers and
vindicates. A man that believes in God can see the
Presence of God, feel the Presence of God, sense the
Presence of God and know He's here. He's here to
answer everything that He made promise for in this day.
Then cry till you get it. Hold on to Him. Don't leave,
if you have to stay day and night. God don't want
His children listening to intellectual speeches. He
wants them to cry to it, till the promise is vindicated.
HE.WAS.TO.PASS.THIS.WAY
64-0321B 16 So Rebekah had found this Jesus. And He
was to her exactly the fulfilling of the promise that
the Jews had been looking for, for their day. So the
news had got around that He was going to have a
breakfast, or some kind of a dinner, or something, down
in Jericho. So she had got busy to praying about her
businessman husband. We need more Rebekahs everywhere.
See, prayer changes things. If you lay your husband, or
your unsaved one, before God and then pray, God will
make a way somewhere 'cause He promised to… I think …if
a person ever meets Jesus and finds Him really in your
heart, you're interested not only in your own household
but the household of God everywhere. You're interested
that they know Him. And to know Him is Life: know Him
not know how to read the Word, or... But know Him is
Life. So she had prayed hard.
ABRAHAM'S.GRACE.COVENANT
61-0317 38 So, see, it isn't some great big healer
comes to town. You're pastor has the same authority of
any other man. Your neighbor, your Christian sister,
your Christian brother... anybody. Anybody has the right
to pray for you. The Bible said confess your faults one
to another and pray one for the other…
Ask your pastor to pray for
you. Prayer changes things. What does it do? It doesn't
heal you. It gives you faith to express what's already
been done: your healing. You understand it?
2. Pray to know what
should happen according to God’s will:
PRESENCE.OF.GOD.UNRECOGNIZED
64-0618 47 What we want to do today is find out the
truth. Is He the same? Is He here to fulfill what He
promised to fulfill? Search the Scriptures and find what
He's supposed to do today.
52 Look at the day we're living
in, what's promised for this day. Where are we? We've
moved on up. The Pillar of Fire moves, and the children
of Israel moved with the Pillar of Fire or they went
back to Egypt. We've got to move with the Word. …Oh the
greatest pleasure I know of, is to be to pray until I
can realize that I'm in the Presence of God, and
recognize it. I think that ought to be the thrill of the
church is the Presence of the Holy Spirit, seeing the
God that made the promise standing among us, feel His
Presence, and see His Word, and see It vindicated. It
ought to give faith to make cripples walk, blind see,
deaf hear, dumb speak.
TRUE.SIGN.THAT'S.OVERLOOKED
61-1112 66 God wants His people to pray. And when
Israel got so taxed in such a condition that they could
not go any farther, their time was fulfilled and their
burdens lay farther than what they thought, then they
begin to pray. And when the people begin to pray, then
God begin to hear. It was time for God's Word to be
fulfilled. And so when Amram and Jochebed saw that
it was time for the Word to be fulfilled, they went to
prayer to God.
GABRIEL'S.INSTRUCT.TO.DANIEL
61-0730M 82 So when he begin to read in the book and
see that the time was drawing nigh to be fulfilled, he
went to God in prayer to find out about it. What a time.
What are we doing when nations are breaking, the sea
a-roaring, man's heart failing for fear, perplexed of
time, all these things, the handwriting on the wall,
racial disintegration, all kinds of evil going on in the
world, and fusses and fights and stews, and weapons
hanging in hangars, that one little nation by the size
of Cuba down here can destroy the world in ten minutes?
And them fussing with one another, ungodly men who knows
not God and knows not His power... And the Holy Spirit
in the Church, moving amongst the elected, showing
Himself alive after two thousand years, that He's the
same yesterday, today, and forever, how can we set
slothfully? How can we just run over the top of it? Time
we were checking up, watching for that great hour
approaching.
